The Fibromyalgia Online Summit is occurring from Sept 28th to Oct 4th. These summits typically involve functional medicine and alternative health approaches to disease. In the online summits, the presentations are free to watch each day for everyone who registers. If you order the Summit, you can watch the presentations at any time.
This is the first time that Dr. Rodger Murphree, a well known fibromyalgia (FM) doctor and author of Treating and Beating Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, has led the FM summit and he’s put his own touch on it.
Scattered throughout the summit, Dr. Murphree will go into depth on four protocols for improving sleep, repairing the stress system, etc., plus he will also highlight six fibromyalgia stories, and the different ways he’s helped them improve.
Besides Dr. Murphree’s talks with his patients and on his protocols, some of the talks I’m most interested in are listed below.
Dr. Ginerva Liptan is always exploring new treatment possibilities. It’ll be good to hear what she has to say in her “Treating Fibromyalgia” talk.
Eva Detko’s (PhD) talk on vagus nerve dysfunction, hypervigilance and fatigue is intriguing for me given the poor parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) activity, and the upregulated sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) activity found in both FM and ME/CFS.
Margaret Christensen (MD) is focusing on something we don’t hear enough about in these summits, but which keeps cropping up in FM, ME/CFS and mold toxicity – the effects of traumatic brain, spine or body injury on fibromyalgia.
Given the role that Nancy Klimas’s ME/CFS and GWI modeling studies indicate male and female hormones play in these diseases, Michelle Sand’s (ND) talk on hormone testing and the role that estrogen, progesterone and testosterone may play in FM is of special interest.
Since I intuitively feel that my detoxification is perhaps not going so well, Bridget Danner’s (Lac) talk on using natural supplements to help detox and support brain function is of interest.
Dr. Teitelbaum (MD) has thought deeply about ME/CFS and FM. Given that, I’m looking forward to his thoughts on “New research and clinical trials”
I am in the summit as well on Day 2. I won’t be listening to my talk with Dr. Murphree :). It’s mostly focused on new research findings and potential new treatments for FM.
Many other people are presenting on a variety of topics: Nicki Gratrix on healing from trauma; small intestinal bowel overgrowth (SIBO); several talks on reducing stress – a good idea as studies show that catastrophic and negative thinking is associated with increased pain; interstitial cystitis; Bartonella infections – which are apparently a big thing in some quarters; the cell danger response; mold; heavy metals; adrenal fatigue, amino acids, etc.
The Online Fibromyalgia Summit occurs from Sept 28th to Oct 4th. Simply registering for the summit gets you a bunch of free goodies: early-access interviews, complimentary guides and eBooks on sleeping better, gut health, etc.
Check out all the talks and if you decide to, register for the summit using this link. You can also order the complete package and watch the presentations at your leisure.

I have been disabled with FM/CFS/Me for 28 years. Always waiting to hear of some new research, or supportive informative.
Dear Frances, I too for longer than I like to remember. But pls note that FM is different than CFS. Good luck to us all.
You will do great, cort.
🙂
I 2nd that
I am very interested in following all this information. I have Fibromyalgia. I suspect I also have CFS.
You will do a great job, no matter what you present. Well done, Cort, on a daily basis!
🙂 Thanks Lori!
Honestly, Cort, I salute you to be able to follow and keep up the health rising.
cause writing and reading have become difficult for me, due to headaches that appear half an hour after waking up.
Sorry to hear that Jaade! But thanks. 🙂
I’ve registered and will look out for the Eva Detko PhD, Niki Gratrix and Dr Teitelbaum talks, who I would already be familiar with, as well as Dr Rodger Murphree, who I wouldn’t be aware of yet!
I learnt a great deal watching lots of the free functional medicine summits – people like Dr Mark Hyman, Dr Jay Davidson etc are involved in many of them.
I’ve also watched the mindfulness and trauma summits. For me, they’re all related. I put together my own program and over the years it seems to be helping.
How can I register for this online summit?
Hi Teresa – this link – https://thefibrosummit.com/?idev_id=869 – will take you to the registration page.
Hey Cort…How do you do it?…I would be wiped out trying to keep up with doing your blogs and being involved with seminars!!…Thank God you can maintain the drive to press on!…I’ve a hard enough time trying to work (on a computer) daily…By the way, I just bought the book: “From Fatigued to Fantastic” by Dr. Teitelbaum, that a friend requested helped her with CFS/FM…Have you ever read and commented on it?…It was wrote in 2007 and is on its 3rd edition?…Thanks!
Thanks – I think it’s an amazing book. 🙂
Is anyone going to talk about chemical sensitivity at the conference? I am watching the Fatigue super conference and no mention of it. Within the invisible illness group of ME/CFS/FM conditions, MCS is doubly invisible
It is the most invisible illness for sure and the ramifications of it can be incredible. I know from personal experience. I don’t know if it is being but the ISEA conference is coming up and it should be covered to some extent there.
