The Fibromyalgia Summits are multiplying. We just had one a couple of months ago and now here’s another one. The world of alternative health is a vast one, though, and this summit provides some different approaches to FM.
The FibroFix Summit starts in five days and lasts from June 20-27. Like the other summits once you register you can view the presentations for free on the day they are given. If you want permanent access to them and materials associated with them you can buy the complete package.
If you’re into alternative approaches to FM and are interested in the following you might want to check this summit. Here are some of the talks
- Dr. Hyman – Internationally known functional MD and author talks on disorders that masquerade as FM and medicines, supplements and foods he uses to treat it.
- Kelly Brogran M.D. – the author of “A Mind of Your Own” asks if the depression/anxiety found in FM is really the result of chemical imbalances or if it’s caused by something else, and offers ways to heal from depression naturally.
- Ronald Hoffman M.D. – focuses on probably the two hottest alternative treatments for FM – low dose naltrexone and medical marijuana – and asks if FM patients should be using CBD oils.
- Gerald Mullin M.D. – otherwise known as “The Food MD” and the author of the Gut Balance Revolution – asks if gut bacteria (and metabolites) are causing widespread pain in FM and then provides ideas on how to clear up IBS and bacterial problems.
- Michael Schneider PhD – tells you if you have “classic” vs “pseudo” fibromyalgia and how to treat them.
- Julie Matthews, CNC – explains how oxalates in your diet could be causing your pain and how to determine if they are.
- Jay Davidson DC – Talks on how Lyme disease can masquerade as FM and then how to accurately test for Lyme.
- John Immel – an Aryuvedic practitioner and creator of “The Joyful Belly” website will speak on what kind of constitution or body type you have, and how to reduce “subconscious psychological tension” found in FM using Aryuvedic techniques.
- Eugene R. Zampieron, ND, MH, AHG & Ellen Kamhi, PhD, RN, AHG, AHN-BC – provides information on herbs to control inflammation and reduce pain in FM.
- Razi Ann Berry – on her recovery from FM and how to find the right doctors for you.
- Joe Tatta – on the differences between fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome and the connection between the emotions and the body in FM.
- Niki Gratrix – how adverse events in childhood can come back to haunt you and contribute to chronic illnesses in later life and how to successfully deal with them.

I totally agree with you Cynthia.
Thanks for the info. Cort. I blew my budget on that other summit ($69) and I haven’t even really looked at all the downloads yet! This summit sounds more interesting to me, but my Social Security check money has already sailed. 😉
BTW, in reading and watching Dan Neuffer’s info. (no, I haven’t enrolled in his ANS Rewire program), he mentions that one of the first thing he recommends is, if you aren’t already on it, to start taking supplemental magnesium. I haven’t been because it messes with my IBS. But I found a type that doesn’t. It’s called TRAACS (reg. trademark of Albion Labs) magnesium bisglycinate chelate. On Amazon, I bought the lesser expensive one by Viva Labs. I had been going for acupuncture and PT, paying a high Medicare co-pay, for spasms in my shoulders and upper back, and the terrible headaches they bring on. Didn’t work. Within a few days of taking the magnesium, I felt marked relief as well as more energy, and I haven’t had a headache in more than a week. None of my other supplements contain much magnesium, and I hadn’t given it any thought before. I cannot take the magnesium w/malic acid because it’s hard on my intestines and too stimulating for me. It’s strange how we come across things now and then, by coincidence, and they help us feel a bit better. Hopefully, that will continue. Definitely not recovery by any means, but helpful. Cheers! Judith
Just remember, Judith, you can view any of the talks for 24 hours for free. Obviously no one with either FMS or ME/CFS will be able to handle that for a week, but if you pick and choose judiciously, you might be able to do it. BTW, I listened to one of the talks, Dr. Hoffman, today. It was a bonus for signing up. Just FYI.
Thank you, Paul! 😀 You’re absolutely right! And I wouldn’t have known that because I completely overlooked the comment in the above article that clearly says “…once you register you can view the presentations for free on the day they are given…” Yeah, after I registered, I saw those “bonuses” so I will check those out, too. Again, I appreciate your bringing this to my attention. I have a bad habit of reading or perusing articles too quickly sometimes and missing important info. Pick and choose…good advice! All the best, Judith
Thanks Cort for notifying us again :-). You are a Godsend. I would have missed it otherwise because of having a major set back for several weeks now. I find the info at the sign up site confusing–it seems that it’s telling us to pay to just listen during the summit (?? brain fog?). Haven’t read through all the topics yet, and thus far I didn’t notice anyone talking about Myofascial Release, particularly the John Barnes Technique (JB-MFR). It’s not widely known because it’s a bit elitist and the practitioners are sparse.
Thanks Judy.
Once you register you should be able to listen to each talk on the day it is given for free. John Tata is going to talk about the difference between Myofascia problems and FM but I don’t know if he’s going to go deeper than that. I don’t see anyone else doing myofascial stuff.
