Glad you found this site and forum. It is my opinion, and the opinion of some experts, that scoliosis can be associated with various spinal and organ anomalies - some not at all a problem, but other things can cause chronic health issues. I have a deviated septum, which predisposes to chronic sinus issues. Here are some things to look at carefully:
1. Chiari malformation/ syringomyelia
2. tethered cord syndrome
3. Go to The Downside of Upright Posture / book and site by Michael Flanagan, D.C.
4. There is a book by Professor Valentyn Serdyuk, orthopedic surgeon and specialist in scoliosis, Odessa University. Book: Scoilosis and spinal Pain Syndrome. He says that the most common problematic structural issue associated with the presence of scoliosis are congenital small holes in the sides of the neck vertebrae where the vertebral arteries pass through. These arteries can easily be compressed causing poor blood flow to the brain. However, there are other issues too. He has a treatment protocol that makes sense - orthotic for short leg, simple exercises ( taking 2 or 3 minutes) to untwist the spine, some electromagnetic device.
Please read my other posts. I think the viral issues may be secondary to a torqued and stretched dural tube and a gimpy blood brain barrier.
Too tired to write more. Blessings, hugs.
