The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is funding less money for ME/CFS research

In the last three years, NHI has funded only 13 million dollars for research on ME/CFS against 17 million dollars in 2021. The amount is the lowest since 2016.

ME/CFS is clearly not a priority disease at NIH, and I cannot understand that so little money is spent on ME/CFS and Long COVID. Around 17.6 million American adults are grappling with Long COVID.

Click on the link below to see how much money the NIH funds on Disease Areas:
Estimates of Funding for Various Research, Condition, and Disease Categories (RCDC)

Below you can see NHI's financing of ME/CFS and similar diagnoses in recent years.

All that money for mental health research is probably due to psychologists inventing new disorders that can't be clinically disproven.
